Sam Reider is an award-winning composer, accordionist, pianist, and singer that is making waves at the intersection of Americana, jazz, and world music. His artistry is driven by an intense creativity, a passion for discovery, and a proven ability to bring together people and communities from around the world.
He's been featured on NPR's "Piano Jazz with Marian McPartland," won "Best Americana Album" from the Independent Music Awards, and has performed and recorded with artists ranging from Jon Batiste and Stay Human to viral YouTube group CDZA, from legendary NY Philharmonic composer David Amram. He was awarded "Best Americana Album" by the Independent Music Awards for his work with Silver City Bound, and has toured as musical ambassador for the U.S. Department of State in eight countries overseas.
Sam Reider and the Human Hands to be represented by Loudon Temple of Brookfield Knights, to tour UK in 2018-2019 in support of upcoming album "Too Hot To Sleep."
The evening was an extraordinary display of the instrument and the musician’s range. With American accordionist Sam Reider, Glem played a fusion of American bluegrass and Venezuelan folk and then very briefly a sort of free jazz, percussion-on-your-instrument breakdown with Reider, both of them grinning.
On Tuesday, September 5th I will be performing with Venezuelan cuatro virtuoso Jorge Glem at Joe's Pub alongside Paquito D'Rivera, Claudia Acuña, and Yotam Silberstein.
Following the recent and heralded release of its EP ‘Take My Picture,’ Silver City Bound will be traveling to Azerbaijan to do concerts and workshops on behalf of the U.S. Department of State's Arts Envoy Program. While in Azerbaijan, the band will collaborate with local musicians and perform at high profile festival America Days.
